A 12 week structured programme working   with children from 4 years old to 16 years old. This programme will be   available as a 1:1 programme or groupwork. Stars represent

KADA   Teen Stars Group

The group will be a 6 week programme which   can be extended by use of 1:1 sessions. This programme will tackle issues of   teen relationships and intergenerational abuse.

KADA   Buddy Scheme

The KADA Buddy programme will allow those   children and young people who have completed the structured programmes and   express an interest to join the buddy scheme. The KADA Buddies will be given   training and support and will be assigned tasks according to age and skills.   These tasks may be attending the KADA Club to befriend particular children,   it may be supporting children in refuge or when they leave, either by phone   or email. KADA buddies will also help in monitoring and evaluating the   service delivery and outcomes for these groups

Outreach   Support

The needs of families experiencing   domestic abuse will also be addressed with experienced project workers   offering one to one support on an appointment basis.

Parenting   after Abusive Relationships and Situations

Fun   parenting

A follow on programme to assist parents in   bringing fun, into parenting. This will be available to those parents who   complete the PAARS programme and/or the Change programme. This will be run as   a group or individual sessions

For those who are worried about their own   abusive behaviour.  The programme   includes an individual programme based on motivational interviewing to help   in bringing about change in behaviour and the Duluth model of power and   control to assist the person to address their abusive and controlling   behaviours.

  2. Child or  young person is 0-19 years
  3. Parent or carer with at least one child 0-19 years

Baby   Safe

The 10 week   structured programme

The aims of the Baby Safe Project   are

 

  • To reduce risks associated with domestic abuse to both mother and baby during and after  pregnancy
  • To develop nurturing and sensitive parenting.
  • To improve parents’ ability to manage their emotions under pressure.
  • To improve parent-child        interaction by supporting parents’ ability to read their child or baby’s        cues.

 

  • Participants will need        to be pregnant or have an infant under the age of 12months
  • Participants or child        need to be subject to either single agency referral (or meet the        criteria) open to child in need or child protection processes.
  • There must be current  or historic domestic abuse
  • Willing to engage with  LIDAS baby safe project
